The Weekend Run - What it is like to run the 18Miles

Saturday was a perfect trot day. Temperature was mild, sun was up and I just had a nap. Perfect. Set to run at 4:00 p.m.

I took the newmills route and continued towards glenties. Upon reaching the Glenties and Church Hill intersection,I turned right and headed back to Letterkenny Dunnes stores. That's a total of 9 miles. The best part is, I have to repeat that route.
At 12 miles, my left knee started to feel the pain-AGAIN. As I continued, my right lower leg started to feel the pain that I have to walk. I took it easy, walk a bit and walk more. I was thinking, I cannot go back because I am almost halfway now. If I have to walk, I might not finish in 3 hours and it gets boring seeing nothing on the road except a few sheep. So I started to run again oblivious of the pain. A lot of things were going on my mind now that I already forgot about the pain. When I was in the intersection, I was relieved and tried to increase my speed. Looking forward now for a shower and a plateful dinner at Ritche's place. I've finished the run for 3 hours and 15 minutes.Right after exercise, it is best to consume food within 1 hour for your muscle recovery.

Saturday was the birthday celebration of TOR-Ritche and Mel's youngest. I arrived when the kids were playing charade hosted by Princes.I headed straight to the kitchen to devour whatever is on the table.I had a delicious pansit, lechon paksiw and shanghai roll. Of course,I have to make room for my all time favorite - chocolate cup cake of Bunny and the Rice cake of Adel.mmmm... After pigging out -aka - muscle recovery, fatigue is now setting in on me so I asked Alvin for a soothing back massage. My back was relieved immediately. That's the wonder of Alvin's hands.Wahoo.After that, I decided to exit so I can do hot compress to relieve the leg pain.

Next time, I will post a guide on how to choose the correct shoes for running/walking according to your running/walking style.
